On my thirtieth birthday, my wife remaining me. She took her cookware, household furniture, photos, her decorations. She remaining me by yourself in an empty all-white condominium. The only thing she did not choose was my bull terrier, whom she’d named immediately after her favorite shoe designer: Jimmy Choo. With only Jimmy for organization, I uncovered inspiration in my blank partitions and my greatest close friend and started out snapping photos of Jimmy Choo as he trotted and cavorted all over the property in glee. When Jimmy collapsed in delighted exhaustion following to the white wall, I grabbed a marker and drew a new entire world all over his ginger-eared pup. Instantly, I felt his long-dormant inspiration for drawing, for art, for life—returning.
I developed a series of entertaining, tongue-in-cheek illustrations, portraying my bull terrier dreaming of shoes, stress-free on a sofa with a martini by his facet or turning canine DJ on the decks. Set versus a matte white qualifications, the illustrations are humorous and eye-catching juxtaposed with brilliant pops of iridescent shade in very hot pink, copper and electric blue.
